Gospa
What is Gospa?
Gospa is a student run magazine based in Los Angeles, that aims to provide a platform for young creatives. The two founders Katie and Ruby have been involved in High School Theatre since their Freshman Year. During this time they met so many young artists who haven't had the chance to share their work. Summer before Junior Year they made a plan to start this magazine. They thought it could be incredible to give people an opportunity to have their work published before they graduate, and to have a record of Gen Z's thoughts and talent. We take photography, poetry, drawings, paintings, etc and combine it into a bimonthly issue, that the whole world can see. Printed and handed out at fundraisers, and online archived on this website.
We believed this idea could make money and we wanted to do something good with it. So another one of our goals is to aid the U.N in their Sustainable Development Goal #4 of Quality Education. Over 60% of women in Africa, The Middle East, and South Asia cannot read.
"I've loved reading books ever since I was a kid. I cannot imagine a life without it. I want to help children around the world receive the quality education they deserve."- Founder of Gospa: Ruby Ford.
All of the profits Gospa earns from selling issues, fundraising and events are donated to UNICEF and The World Literacy Foundation. On behalf of the whole team, Welcome to Gospa!
