Artist Spotlight: Emmett Whitaker

Emmet is an exceptional photographer and a senior at Pali. A lover of the performing arts, film, and photo, Emmet Whitaker is no doubt on the path to success. He reached out to me in the summer in need of a "glass shower" and I honestly had no idea where he was going with it, but needless to say the pictures were outstanding. With rich colors and surrealist inspiration, his work blurs reality with mystery. Though all of his work is gorgeous, I would say my favorite collection of his would be the "glass shower" one with model Katie Lew. By using deep purples and pinks he created a Euphoria-esque glow to the scene, and with a soft focus it felt like a strange dream. His work, whether it's trippy surrealism or snapshots of Malibu beach, is always full of emotion and life.
